Scanner audio stops when screen turns off

If the app stops playing audio every time the screen turns off and you have your device's power saving feature turned on, try turning it off, you can do that by following these steps:

  • Go into your device's Settings area
  • Select "Battery" (or select "Advanced" and then "Battery")
  • Turn off the "Power saving mode" setting if you see one.
  • If you see "Power-saving feature", select it, then press the OK button when a pop-up appears, then select Apps at the top, then select the "Scanner Radio" checkbox to enable a power management exception.

If that doesn't help, check to make sure the apps use of background data hasn't been restricted, to do that follow these steps:

  • Go into your device's Settings area
  • Select "Apps"
  • Select "Scanner Radio"
  • Select "Data Usage"
  • Make sure the "Restrict app background data" setting is turned off.

If your device only has WiFi and the app stops playing audio every time the screen turns off, check its Wi-Fi sleep policy:

  • Go into your device's Settings area
  • Select "Wi-Fi"
  • Select "Advanced" from the menu
  • Make sure the "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" setting is set to Always.

If the above don't help, check to make sure you don't have an app (such as a battery saving app) or a setting on your device that's turning off its Wi-Fi/cellular radios when the screen turns off.
